You can go to any ATV dealer in Chittenden and Franklin County or attend our monthly meeting to purchase a membership.

· How much does it cost to join?
It costs $35.00 to join VASA and $20.00 to join the NCAA Club with a Vermont registered ATV. Plus any other applicable fees depending where you sign up. If you are in a reciprocal state fees are a bit higher otherwise the ATV's need to be registered in VT.

· What do I have to provide in order to get VASA and Club membership?
The only thing you need to provide is a current ATV registration with a valid State of Vermont plate# for most memberships. Some dealers require additional information for town road riding. If out of state, please contact us for additional information.

· What do I need to ride on the trails legally?
You need to have a VASA plate attached to your machine (preferably in the front of the machine); a helmet; a valid State registration plate attached to your machine (in the rear) and all paperwork with you at all times in case of being stopped by Law Enforcement.

· After I am legal, where can I ride?
There are many trail systems around the State of Vermont. You will receive a yearly VASA trail map at the time of membership registration or if it is still early in the membership year you will be mailed a map as soon as they are available.

· Can I ride on trails put in place by the other Vermont Clubs?
Yes, as long as you are a Club member and a member of VASA, you can ride on any of the VASA ATV trails.

· Are there rules on the trails (ex. Speed limits, etc.)?
Yes. Trails are posted with specific speed limits in certain areas. Most of the trail riding is using common sense speeds, etc. Please be aware of areas that are posted for cows, horses, slower speeds, etc.

· Can I ride on the trails all year long?
Sometimes. Some of the trail systems are open all year except for mud season and hunting seasons. Please contact the local Club of that trail system to verify the riding season.

· What is VASA?
Vermont ATV Sportsman’s Association. Similar to VAST, except it oversees all of the local ATV Clubs.

· Can children drive age/size appropriate machines on trails?
Yes. The only extra requirement is any child under the age of 18 should have an approved ATV safety course. The only available course at this point is an online course provided by the VT State Police. We also stress that any child under 16 without a drivers license should be supervised at all times by an adult.
