September 2003 Newsletter

Trails Update

We have had a couple of trail work parties already. Trails are looking good, just need to put more signs up, this is scheduled for September 7th, 10:00am.

Merriman Dash has gotten all of the existing landowners to re-sign the permission forms for the trails to continue, as well as expansion of the trails.

There will be a few more trail work parties scheduled before the trails close for hunting season (October 1-December 15).

Menard’s host Club Party

The Club Pig Roast was held on September 6th at Mike and Vicki Menard’s home in Sheldon. They had a 160# pig and a 25# turkey with everyone bringing side dishes.

The food was great and it was a nice relaxing time to visit with fellow members.

A great big thank you to the Menard’s for hosting and cooking, and thank you to everyone who attended.

Jerry receives plaque

Jerry Wolfenbarger our former President of the Club received his plaque that the Club sent him for his dedication.

He was very pleased and was completely surprised to receive it.

Thanks everyone for keeping it a secret!

E-Mail Addresses

Andy has been receiving e-mails from members giving him their e-mail addresses.

Thank you and keep them coming.

Club Website Down

Just for your information, if you visit the Club website (www.ncaa-inc.com) the forum page has been down. We are in the process of getting this fixed. The other pages are available for viewing.

Canada Ride Anyone?

Brian Douglas has a Canada ride scheduled for September 13, 2003 if anyone is interested in attending.

We will meet at the Swanton McDonald’s at 7:30 then proceed across the border to buy Trail Passes. The cost of the day Trail pass is $25.00 Canadian or if you would like a season pass, which ends October 31st, it is $60.00 Canadian.

This will be an all day ride, approximately 30-50 miles.

The ride is well worth the trip!!!

To ride in Canada you need to have a Vermont Registration, Trail Pass, Helmet and personal Liability Insurance.

Please also bring a lunch with you because of unsure of which trail system we will be riding on.

If you have any questions, please contact Brian Douglas at 868-9991.

Trail Maps

We are going to GPS the trails in the near future, so we will have updated trail maps available soon.

Challenge to members

We are issuing a challenge to each of our members to please try and get a couple of landowners to sign Landowner Permission forms. We can “connect the dots” from there.

You can pick up forms at any of the meetings.

We have 250+ members in the club and if each of us gets a few people to sign permission forms our trail system has the possibility to expand quickly.

We are the second largest club in VASA and growing. Thank you to each of our members for participating.

Trails Close for hunting season…

Just to let everyone know that starting October 1st thru December 15th the Enosburg Trails and many of the others around the State will be closed for hunting season out of respect for the landowners.

Starting December 16th our trails will reopen and are open during the winter season for riding.

Holiday Meeting Schedule

The November 14th meeting (rescheduled) will be the last meeting until the February 2004 meeting due to the Holidays. We will still put out correspondence to the members about any upcoming events, rides, etc.
