October 2003 Newsletter
Fatal ATV Accident
There was a fatal ATV accident in Franklin, Vermont this past week. Charles Gates was accidentally backed into by some farm machinery while riding his ATV. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Mr. Gates!
Enosburg Trails Closed…The Enosburg trails are temporarily closed for ATVing due to hunting season. They will reopen on December 16th.
GPS Trail Maps
Andy went out a couple of weeks ago to the trails and GPSed them. He is working on updated maps and will get them out to members as soon as they are available.
September ride in Canada
The Canada ride went well last month. We had approximately 12 people from Vermont and New York attending. This time they went West of Montreal. These are trails that the Club has not riden yet. The trails were dusty but a good time was had by all!!
E-mail addresses needed…We are still looking for quite a few more e-mail addresses from members! There was discussion at the last meeting about e-mailing the newsletter out to those who have internet access instead of sending out hard copies and saving money on office supplies and postage.
So if you would like to receive your newsletter by e-mail, please send your e-mail address to Andy (president@ncaa-inc.com) and send a short note what it is for and as soon as we get this ready we will try it out.
Even if you have an e-mail address and would like to still receive a hard copy of the newsletter, please go ahead and send Andy a short note.
I believe most of you enjoy receiving a monthly newsletter, so please let us know which way you would like to receive it.

Volunteer Project???
The Martell Family Home in Swanton is looking for
volunteers to help clear land for a new building.
This is something we feel could be achieved by using our ATV’s and supplies as well as man/woman power.
Claire will be looking into this more before the next meeting in November and will fill you in then.
If this is something you think you would be interested in helping out with, please come to the next meeting on November 14th and let us know.
Highgate purchases new rescue sled
The Highgate Fire Department is in the process of purchasing a new rescue sled for rough terrain rescues.
They approached Andy in regards to the Club purchasing a “wheel kit” for the sled. It would cost the Club $500.
There was much discussion on this at the last meeting, but Andy is to find out more on the wheel kit and its uses, so if you would either like us to purchase or not to purchase, please come to the next meeting and let us know.
November meeting rescheduled
Just a reminder that the next meeting of the NCAA, Inc. has been changed to November 14th, 7:00 pm due to a scheduling conflict with the Abbey.
Meeting Place/Dates
The Board of Director’s would like your help.
The attendance to the NCAA, Inc. meetings has been declining slowly over the past few months.
If you cannot make it to a meeting because of the day the meeting falls on or if we need to change the meeting place, please let us know. We would like to have a strong presence at our meetings.
Again, let us know what you would like. We cannot accommodate all, but we can try to make it more interesting or change things around so the scheduling for our members is easier.
